"Samuel and Pamelia (Stephens) Olin's second of four children was a son, Marcello, born 1836 at Hornellsville, Steuben County, New York. He received his education in the Steuben County School System when his father was Superintendent of the schools. Marcello worked as a laborer at various jobs in the county. One job in particular was to help lay the tracks for the new railroad running thorugh southern New York State. In 1855, at 21 years old, he considered himself a man of the world; he married Eunice Webb of Hornell and immediately took her west to Platte City, Platte County, Missouri. Their farm consisted of choice, river bottom land subject to flooding during high waters of the Missouri River. The olins could look across the Missouri River and see the lands of Kansas State. The children who survived the rigors of life along the river were: Clem, born 1862; Clara, born 1864; Frank Rylan, born 1866; and Gertrude May, born 1870. The only additional information regarding these children born during the conflict of the Civil War relates to Frank Rylan Olin.
Frank Rylan Olin ....
Marcello and Eunice Olin returned to Steuben County shortly before his mother's death and purchased a small farm next door to her farm. Marcello died at Hornell in 1894. Eunice Webb Olin traveled to California where she died in 1919 in Los Angeles, probably at the home of one of her children."
