On November 9, 2004, we went on a day trip to the New York State
Library and New York State Archives (all in the same building). What
an experience! You need more that one day to get even a portion of
what is there, the place is massive. For us, it will take a few more
trips to go through records and books to get the information we are
looking for.

We had to contact the Archives before we went so they could pull the
records for us to view when we got there. They only pull records twice
a day, and contacting them ahead of time guarenteed we would be able to
view them that one day of our trip. Go through their online catalog,
it is well worth it!
